Our base camp at Hanh Creek is right beside
Young's Creek, one of the tributaries to the world famous
South Fork of the Flathead River. September and
October offer fantastic fly fishing. Your combination permit includes
a fishing license, if you want to try your hand at fishing after you get
your elk.

Lake Upsata News and Stuff
April 6, 2008- Howdy
Everybody! It's supposed to be spring here
in the Blackfoot Valley, but Mother Nature
forgot to update her program here. We
still have a foot of frozen "snow helmet" on all
the pastures, I'm still hauling water because
the lake is totally frozen, and there is no hope
in sight for the pastures... yet. But, it
will come, and we can't wait to head for the
hills.
A quick note on Julie- She and I
are leaving for Boston on 4/18. She is
running the Boston Marathon! Watch for her
on TV. She'll be the one that's running
(amongst the other 25,000). We're all
quite proud of what she has accomplished, so be
sure to keep checking here. I'll post how
she did on this page when we get back.
May 1, 2008- Well- we
survived the big city. Julie did GREAT at
the race. She finished 2895 overall, 211
women, and 37 in masters women. Take a
moment to read this great article in the local
paper
http://www.missoulian.com/articles/2008/04/30/sports/sports02.txt
We met up with Ted and Jen Ashburn of
Boston. They were here a few years ago on
a vacation. "Thank you" to them for their
great hospitality and to Jen for giving us a
wonderful tour of the city. If you ever
get a chance to go to Boston, do so. It's
a great place!
Just wanted to update everyone
on what's new:

We still have room for some more
hunters in our Bob Marshall camp. We did
not fill all of our openings with guaranteed
tags before the March 15th deadline. We
could still take 10-12 more hunters. So,
if you're a Montana resident that never had a
chance to hunt the wilderness of the Bob
Marshall, or you're a non-resident that drew a
tag this spring, give us a call. We would
love to hear from you. All we need is a hunter
with a 2008 tag.

June 2-6-
Chris Bohenek will be here at the ranch giving
one of his "Core Balance" horsemanship clinics.
This is a chance you don't want to pass up.
You'll spend the entire week with Chris learning
the best horsemanship techniques available;
you'll leave here with new skills and
confidence, learned on the same trails you loved
so much on your vacations at Lake Upsata.
This is no 'arena clinic'. You'll be in
the saddle, with your horse, getting specific,
personal instruction every day. And, when
your day is done, it's up to the lodge for that
famous Lake Upsata food; then spend a relaxing
evening on the deck or in the hot tub. For
additional information go to
www.bohenekhorsemanship.com or go to our
'Specialty Weeks" page. Or you can just
call us here at the ranch. We'd love to hear
from you.

We are now taking reservations
for overnight stays in the cabins for you folks
just passin' through the beautiful Blackfoot
Valley. This is the best deal in town.
$110 per night, double occupancy, with
breakfast! You can't pass that up,
can you. Give us a call at 1-800-594-7687,
and we'll leave the light on for you... did I
just steal that from someone else...?

Anyway, things are all good here
at the ranch. Rod is still guarding the
deck, the kids are growing like weeds, Julie is
running miles and miles with her beloved Border
Collies, and we just keep going! Stay
tuned and check in with us often. We have
a lot of things on the docket. We'll put
them on our Specialty Weeks page or post them
here.
Talk to you soon,
Greg
So until we see you,
remember-
This place is going to change your life!

Nick, Brandon, Greg, and
a happy customer at the headwaters of the
Southfork of the Flathead River River

Experience Montana's backcountry the ultimate way,
with a fully outfitted, guided hunt for elk and deer.
Lake Upsata Outfitters offers an
unforgettable hunt. We hunt the
Bob Marshall Wilderness in the Flathead National Forest. You'll see
beautiful country, ride horses on high mountain tops,
eat great food and sleep on cots in cozy wall tents.
This is a truly unique experience that you'll want to
return to year after year. Don't wait too
long on this one. Openings are limited!
