 Traveling
through the wilderness by horseback riding
is regaining popularity as one of America's
favorite family vacations. This is a
great way to re-connect with family and
friends, away from the crowds and the
cell phones, the hustle and bustle of life,
the everyday stress that so many of us deal
with. Here at Lake Upsata, we explore
the Bob Marshall Wilderness from horseback,
just as it's been done for centuries.
We plan on
taking some great fly-fishing trips this
summer, offering a combination of remote
high-wilderness lakes and wonderful river
and stream fishing. We'll move camp
three times during the week with a one day
layover at each place to maximize our
fishing opportunities. These two, week
long fisherman's dream trips will leave late
July and early August, so get ahold of us to
book your trip.

Drop Floats:
Lake Upsata Guest
Ranch is one of a select number of outfitting
businesses in the Bob Marshall complex permitted to
take private clients to the headwaters of the South
Fork of the Flathead River for private float trips.
We will not guide you down the river, but we sure
get you to the start in one piece. Floating
the river is best from early July to early August,
and, depending on the snow pack from the previous
winter, in can be navigated in late June. The ride
from either Monture (28 miles) or Lodgepole (23
miles) takes all day. Plan on getting to
the river late in the afternoon or evening and
starting your float the next day.
2008 Cost- per person @
$685.00.
This includes your
packing crew, one pack animal and one riding horse
per person. Additional
pack animals are $300.00 per animal.
Drop Float
Availability: As of April 10th, 2008.
Due to the heavy
snowpack in the Southern Bob Marshall, we are
talking to our earliest drop float customers about
rescheduling... so hold tight on the requests for
now. We are working everybody in where we can.
